Letter from the Founder - Karabo Masemola

No one who achieves success does so without the help of others. The wise and confident acknowledge this help with gratitude.” – Alfred North Whitehead.

I write this letter to not only give more insight on what the platform is about, but also most importantly to show much appreciation to everyone who has contributed to getting The Share Button where it is today. Many young people are doing amazing things, and they need platforms for their work to be seen and recognized. I will not speak for other industries that I am not familiar with, but I do know that the arts industry has so much gatekeeping that happens, leaving people with potential out. This Network was created to be a space in which those with potential for excellence can have their work and themselves showcased, and for them to be celebrated.

The events spaces that we create and are a part of have the sole purposes of showcasing and networking. The Share Button exists to bridge the gap between upcoming and established artists, and we do this through our events and the talk show. The talk show on YouTube consists of events coverage and interviews of those upcoming and established. Upcoming artists share their work and are introduced to new audiences, while established artists share their background and success stories. In doing this, a network and knowledge hub are created, allowing for people who have an interest in the industry to know certain advices that they perhaps wouldn't have access to otherwise.

As we stand right now, The Share Button has a team, and support from loyal followers and people who are able to benefit from the platform. I am grateful to each and every one for believing in the vision, and its potential to create change and transform not only people's lives, but also society as a whole.

May we continue to grow our wings and strengths beyond the borders of our own country, South Africa. May we impact the lives of those abroad too. To change the world, we need to start with our own country first. Judging from the growth that the platform is gaining, I have reason to believe that we will surely reach our ultimate destination.
